They are actively seeking a Medical Affairs Manager (newly created role) to join their North America operations. In this role, you'll oversee a variety of Medical Affairs related projects such as medical writing, medical communication, research and analysis of publications, KOL engagement, contribution to the medical and health economic related projects, presentations, and training programs. Additionally, you'll be responsible for identifying and liaising with KOLs (primary care, telemedicine, optometry, ophthalmology) on a variety of topics related to retinal imaging and supporting the dissemination of clinical messaging.
Your responsibilities include:
- Review published research and extract pertinent data to generate compelling and impactful clinical messaging and identify gaps where new projects may add value
- Lead medical writing needs: writing and editing of all or parts of medical writing projects including manuscripts, abstracts, white papers, case studies, blog and social media posts, podium presentations, educational materials
- Deliver credible presentations on scientific matters to physicians, sales, R&D, marketing individually or in groups (meetings, clinical sessions), where requested
- Travel to sites and conferences to collect information on the relevant clinical needs, hot topics and new potential collaborators
- Maintain publication planner
- Identifying new KOLs and establish relationships with medical advisors to support publication planner and quarterly corporate goals
- Identification and support of Investigator-Initiated trials as well as support of collaborative research projects
- Management of reading center interactions to maintain positive relationships and support for ongoing and emerging needs
- Image management support including management of company image library which requires selecting appropriate demonstrative cases as well as suggesting cases for publication
- Generate, in conjunction with marketing, sales support materials generation to educate on clinical messaging
- Ability to work in concert with clinical operations team, clinical data management, R&D, field sales and marketing personnel in achievement of company goals for the collection/publication of investigator-led clinical studies
- Support the planning and execution of medical advisory board, investigator meetings and events as needed
- Encourage re-use and best-practice sharing of Medical Affairs activities and deliverables
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a scientific subject, certified clinical professional, ophthalmic photography or equivalent education gained through work experiences
- Previous experience as a Medical Affairs Associate, Medical Science Liaison or similar role
- Previous experience in the healthcare / scientific industry working with medical devices preferred.
- Ability to multitask, be extremely flexible and adaptable able to change priorities rapidly, as well as keep to tight deadlines
- Focus on continual learning and information sharing
- Working knowledge of preclinical and clinical research, familiar with requirements and current attitudes of regulatory agencies and have technical writing capability
- Have knowledge/or a keen interest in learning about Retinal Diseases, ophthalmic experience a plus
- GCP, CFR, ICH and ISO knowledge required
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and IT skills (word, excel, power point, photoshop) and social media
- Self-starter with ability to work independently remotely with minimal supervision
- Willingness to balance office needs with travel nationally (up to 50%) to include some overseas travel

Salary Range is $100,000-$130,000 with a 15% bonus.
