Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY
This job is responsible for supporting Media Relations/external communication activities for Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH) in accordance with professional standards and strategic business objectives. Work includes implementing, within scope of position, a comprehensive Media Relations program, including both earned and owned media, to support the strategic objectives of the organization. An incumbent supports proactive and reactive communications activities to best reach and engage identified target audiences via various communications channels and platforms.
Work includes:
- Providing support in building out the VMFH “Speakers Bureau” and subject matter expert (SME) lists;
- Maintaining the Newsroom website;
- Facilitating availability of current information and relevant reporter resources/press materials; and
- Maintaining VMFH media lists and shared messaging framework to support consistency across the organization.
Qualifications
Education/Work Experience Requirements
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in Marketing, Journalism, English, Communications, Public Relations or related field, and two years of progressively responsible related work experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge/skills/abilities. Work experience in a health care setting or an agency with health care clients is preferred.
Additional qualifying work experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge and abilities, on a year-for-year basis, may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Pay Range
$32.08 - $46.51 /hour
