JOB SUMMARY:
Assists the physician with endoscopic or ophthalmic procedures according to the documented physician’s preferred routine. Cleans, maintains and orders supplies and equipment. Shall at all times demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors. Facilitates and demonstrates cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors at all times.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Medical Technician Level – I (Endoscopy/Ophthalmology Technician):
1. Sets up Endoscopy Room or Ophthalmology operative room according to surgeon preference.
2. Assists physician and RN with endoscopic and ophthalmologic procedures.
4. Applies the principles of aseptic technique and prescribed procedure room procedures to competently perform endoscopy and ophthalmology technician functions.
5. Performs required maintenance of instruments, supplies and equipment by adhering to cleaning, care, utilizations and sterilization procedures as directed.
7. Uses and maintains Medivator DSD and Custom Ultrasonics 83+9 according to manufacturer recommendations.

QualificationsExperience: Experience in endoscopy and ophthalmology procedures including assisting and disinfection/sterilization preferred. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or graduate of an accredited surgical technician program preferred.
Equipment/Technology: Basic computer knowledge. Operating endoscope equipment and scopes, endoscope washer(s), ophthalmic instrument processing equipment, autoclave(s).
Language/Communication: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
Mental Capabilities: Can frequently and consistently make sound judgments.
Interpersonal: Ability to work well with others. Performance: Can work well under pressure
