We’re currently seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Quality Control Inspectorlocated in Fort Meade, MD.
Required Education:
- Graduate Mechanical Engineer + 5 years construction experience
OR
- Licensed Journeyman with minimum of 10-years similar and relevant field experience
Required Certifications/Licenses:
- USACE CQMC certification (certification is not a pre-requisite, but must be obtained within 60-days)
Required Qualifications:
In order to become a candidate, you must possess the following skills and abilities.
- Skills in understanding work related documents such as drawings, codes, standards, specifications, processes, procedures and other quality requirements
Responsibilities:
- Perform field inspections per the Hensel Phelps / USACE Project Specific Quality Plan, the Testing/Inspections Schedule, Inspections Test Procedures, using applicable Inspection Reports or checklists
- Notify supervisors (Hensel Phelps) of any discrepancies found with in-process work or completed work
- Document compliance and non-compliance information on the proper reporting forms
- Review Mechanical submittals (assist Hensel Phelps Office Engineer) for conformance with the Contract Documents
- Manage/attend weekly Mechanical QC/QA meetings with USACE
- Complete a daily report depicting all Quality Activity observed/witnessed on-site in the Prolog database
- Be the face of Mechanical QC for the project
- Develop and maintain relationships & trust with QA counterparts (USACE)
- Seamless integration with the Hensel Phelps’ staff
- Schedule, lead and document Initial Inspections & Follow-up Inspections
- Attend and participate in Commissioning Meetings, Inspections and Testing and assist 3rd Party Commissioning Agent with managing the Commissioning process
- Develop DFOW (Definable Features of Work) checklists
- Manage development of Preparatory Meeting agendas (Office Engineer, Superintendent and Safety collaboration) within the mechanical DFOWs
- Assist in Quality audits as necessary (typically quarterly)
- Follow jobsite safety rules (lead by example); do not engage in unsafe acts or conditions
- Attend and participate in all safety meetings and trainings
- PPE – provided by Hensel Phelps must be worn at all times (lead by example)
- Correct unsafe acts or conditions
Salary:
- $52.00 per hour
Bonus Pay:
A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals; bonus opportunities are available at management’s discretion.
