ABOUT THE ROLE
To safely and efficiently perform inspection, preventive maintenance, repair, and installation related to Mechanical Maintenance tasks throughout the plant.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Perform work in the areas of Mechanical Maintenance using sound maintenance practices,
- Performs all tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
- Observes safety regulations and established operational procedures at all times.
- Repairs equipment as required.
- Performs inspection and preventive maintenance as scheduled.
- Performs routine maintenance work as scheduled.
- Completes paperwork and record keeping as required.
- Use tools and equipment ranging from hand tools to special diagnostic tools
- Troubleshoot, repair, and install mechanical equipment in a cement plant.
- Make proactive inspections and document findings, report and assist in resolution of safety and environmental concerns and work practices that may affect the Health and Safety of employees.
- Assists in maintaining plant housekeeping standards.
- Promptly reports unusual circumstances, problems or difficulties to supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Required Education: High School diploma/GED
- Required Work Experience: 5 years related experience in Mechanical Maintenance repair in an industrial environment preferably in a cement plant.
Additional Requirements:
- Able to weld, cut, and use standard maintenance-shop type machinery
- Able to operate mobile equipment including Bobcat, Condor, and Forklift
- Able to climb stairs and ladders, work on catwalks or other unusual work areas
- Must be willing to work overtime and shift work as required
- Must be able to demonstrate ability to complete quality work in a timely fashion, without rework.
- Able to perform heavy lifting/physically
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
