Mechanical Engineer - Rotating & Static Equipment Design

POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs assignments designed to develop professional engineering work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and related engineering tasks. Using prescribed methods, performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. Applies standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ DUTIES:

• Independently evaluates, selects and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.

• Experience with Rotating & Static Equipment Design specifications, and preparation of equipment data sheets, request for quotes, bid tabulation and request for purchasing packages.

• Preparation of specifications, process study, research investigations, report preparation and other activities of limited scope.
• Maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work tasks or the work environment; adjusting effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements or cultures.
• May supervise or coordinate the work of technicians and others who assist in specific assignments.
• Clearly conveying information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.
• Establishing courses of action for self and others to ensure that work is completed efficiently.
• Being aware of conditions that affect employee safety.
• Using appropriate methods and a flexible interpersonal style to help build a cohesive team; facilitating the completion of team goals.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
• 4 years of industry related experience.
