Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

REQUIREMENT- Must be a US Citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screen
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Candidate will provide engineering and commissioning services on several simultaneous federal facility renovation and construction projects.
- Experience with construction management services, building design and commissioning, construction projects, or complex federal projects is desired, construction value of at least $100 million or more.
- Candidate will be responsible for site observation and reporting on multiple assigned projects to government personnel.
- Perform Commissioning/Quality Assurance with HVAC startup and all other related Mechanical commissioning features of work, i.e., Performance Verification Test (PVT), Test and Balance Procedures (TAB), DALT procedures, DDC Control Start-up procedures, and Functional Performance Test (FPT).
- Experienced with 3-Phase QC/Inspection process and EM 385-1-1.
- Candidate will provide technical and administrative support.
- Oversee construction, contract administration, and quality assurance activities in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Analyze design and construction issues with respect to contract requirements.
- Deliver recommendations to government personnel regarding compliance with contract provisions.
- Candidate should be prepared to review and interpret plans and specifications, submittals, reports, schedules, modifications, cost estimates, pay applications, change orders and claims.
- Provide field surveillance and prepare daily detailed reports covering all pertinent factors affecting cost and engineering considerations.
- Participate in pre-construction conferences with government personnel.
- Emphasis is placed on knowledge and experience with but not limited to HVAC systems, system controls, building automation, chilled water, plumbing, humidification, data centers, and other complex mechanical-engineering related elements found in large and complex buildings and utility plants.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited college, preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of engineering; construction and contract administration experience.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred
- US Army Corps of Engineering (USACE) or other federal project experience.
- Experience with USACE three-phase inspections and EM 385-1-1.
- Experience working at Patrick Space Force Base, preferred.
- Experience using RMS 3.0, preferred
- Demonstrate proficiency and effective communications skills in the English language in both oral and written forms
- Interaction with clients and contractors requires candidate to have a professional presentation along with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
