Job Description
What You Will Be Doing:
- As a Mechanical Engineer, you will make decisions independently on design problems, practices and methods and will be participate in the design and engineering of assigned projects. Most of the work will be for industrial customers.
- Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices for primarily mechanical and process piping design for assigned projects
- Takes direction from Sr. Mechanical Engineer for assigned duties within a given project
- Produces finished plans and specifications and final acceptance or rejection of submittals
- Completes design work on engineering/architectural projects ranging from small to large scope. This may be 2D, 3D, or a combination of both.
- Work directly with CAD team to make sure drawings meet the customer's specifications
- May devise new approaches and solutions to problems encountered and communicate them to the team
- The engineer will be required to participate in construction administration, including review of submittals and shop drawings, field verification, and punch list activities.
- May represent the firm in meetings and conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate a project when needed
- Some travel to customer sites may be required (mostly local work)
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required
- PE or PE-tracked preferred, with two (2) or more years of related practical experience
- Prior experience with either process piping, petrochemical, pipeline, refinery, or related industry is highly preferred. Other industrial experience will also be considered.
- Mechanical Design experience (3D preferred)
- Comfortable coordinating with multi-disciplined teams
