- Execute with guidance the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned individual and team projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements with oversight from more senior engineers.
- Design products in accordance with API/ASME/NACE/BSSE standards.
- Provide technical leadership and coordinate with analysis, material and other global engineering groups supporting the assigned project.
- Provide technical leadership and engineering support cross functionally to supply chain, manufacturing, and test/assembly.
- Interface with customers to determine design requirements and/or provide program updates.
- Formulate and implement plans to meet technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments of assigned components and systems.
- Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues through root cause analysis, non-comformance analysis where appropriate.
- Participate in technical and program reviews.
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
- Utilize knowledge of applicable codes and standards including API 6, 7 and 16 series and ASME Section 8 in daily engineering operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of relevant experience).
- Minimum 0-2 years of relevant technical experience.
- Previous experience designing land and subsea BOP's, connectors, diverters and surface valves.
- Ability to jump into existing projects and execute to schedule dates.
- Strong desire to maintain project schedule while delivering expected results.
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing ANSI Y14.5M (GD&T).
- Proficient using MS Office applications, MathCad, AutoCAD, and Creo.
- Understands general material types, coating types, manufacturing techniques, and non-destructive examination.
- Ability to work in a team environment on short or long term projects.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills.
