Mechanical Engineer
Key Role:
Apply engineering physics, engineering mathematics, and materials science principles to support the design, analysis, manufacture, and maintenance of lasers, electronics, and electro-optics sensors. Develop innovative solutions to the complex problems of high energy laser prototyping. Conduct modeling and simulation. Create parts and assemblies using computer aided drafting (CAD) and turn them into part, assembly, and process drawings. Work hands-on in fabrication, test fitting, and assembly of mechanical systems. Define and conduct tests to validate performance of designs to requirements. Work without considerable direction and mentor and supervise team members.
Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience with Mechanical Engineering design and analysis
• 2+ years of experience with mechanical integration of electronics
• 2+ years of experience with SolidWorks CAD
• Ability to adapt quickly and apply excellent judgment to conduct the design and analysis process.
• Ability to work in a hands-on prototyping environment with complex assemblies.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with performing Mechanical Engineering and integration of high energy lasers and electro-optics sensors.
• Experience with fused deposition modeling 3D printing
• Experience with small-scale fabrication, including drill press, cutting tools, tap, and die
• Experience with leading tasks or teams in mechanical design activities
• Knowledge of ASME Y14.100 Standards for drawings
• Secret clearance
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
