NOV is actively recruiting candidates for a MechanicalEngineer role to provide support on new product development, product improvement, and technical/lifecycle support on multiple NOV products.
Day to day operation consists of evaluation, selection, and applying advanced level Mechanical Engineering techniques to the new design, construction, renovation, and maintenance of assigned projects. The desired candidate must be able to balance a mixture of engineering design and field implementation. This position will be responsible for the full product lifecycle including Design, R&D, Testing, Field Installation, Field Commissioning, and Continuous Improvement.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, design, and installation of multiple engineering-based projects. Projects typically consist of new equipment design, new equipment construction, and refurbishment of existing used equipment.
- Lead the conceptual development, design, and implementation of complex, large-scale manufacturing equipment and oversee its organization, scheduling, cost control, and implementation.
- Provide hands-on operational field support to all manufacturing facilities including technical based troubleshooting of equipment, modifications of existing equipment, and installation of new equipment.
- Includes on-site and indirect management of various contractors and technicians to performing work within NOV Tuboscope facilities.
- Review, comment, and modify consultant or in-house prepared design drawings for compliance with numerous regulatory agencies.
- Use of AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor, and Siemens NX to complete engineering design projects successfully and within budget.
- Create, review, and modify equipment drawings utilizing Team Center.
- Develop and maintain successful business relationships with NOV Tuboscope vendors.
- Mentor junior Engineers
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
- Minimum 7 Years’ Experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
- Must be familiar with and capable of producing and modifying AutoCAD & AutoDesk Inventor Drawings of equipment and facility layouts.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey ideas and thoughts clearly.
- Able to work independently with the ability to multitask.
- Strong attention to detail.
Additional Desirable Attributes:
- Advanced Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- EIT or PE License
- High level of organizational skills.
- Mechanically inclined mindset with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Hands-on experience (e.g. mechanically inclined hobbies, experience in mechanic shop, hands-on with mechanical systems, understanding of welding practices).
