MechanicalEngineer
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing startup in the aerospace/defense industry. They are developing world-class modular unmanned aerial vehicle systems and this will be an instrumental role within the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for innovation and be responsible for the design and integration of various aircraft parts and systems. The ME will produce solid models, assemblies, and drawings as well as interface with vendors and other engineers on the team.
Responsibilities:
- Design and own hardware from concept through production
- Use SolidWorks to create resilient models and assemblies that are easily modified
- Produce engineering drawings with appropriate dimensions and tolerances
- Communicate with vendors in order to get quotes and delivery of parts
- Rapidly design, prototype, and test to validate the robustness and proper performance of designs
- Lead and participate in internal and external design reviews
Requirements and Desired Experience:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar
- 2+ years of CAD modeling experience, preferably with SolidWorks
- Experience taking products from concept to production
- Hands-on fabrication skills
- Able to make high-quality engineering drawings that meet common industry standards
- Knowledge of electronics, sensors, wiring, connectors
- Understanding of CNC machining and 3D printing
- Hands-on hardware and assembly skills
- Comfortable with the design review process, and with both providing and receiving feedback
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Self motivated and passionate with strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with cross-functional teams; preferably electrical and/or aircraft design teams
- US Person status required
Compensation (DOE): $90k - $120k annual base salary
