Mechanical Designer

Actalent Services is hiring Mechanical Designers to join our team in Ogden!

Job Description:

Day to day - These designer are going to be creating piece parts and assembly designs for various types of parts that go on carts that are pulled behind tractors, and passenger boarding bridges. They need someone who can sit down at a CADstation and design parts and widgets.

The ideal candidate is someone who has 3-5 years of experience and is open minded in the sense of they are always looking for the next project to work on. They are not going to have a check list of designs to get out each day - it is going to be ever changing depending on what project they are working on and whether it is for the jet bridges or carts.

Any Vault System experience is a plus here.

Day 1 - they need to have drafting and design experience everything else they do can be taught

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

experience looking at sketches and customer specifications to determine the design impact / how the part of piece should be designed

experience with modeling and assembly in some sort of CAD package (NX, solidworks, creo, inventor, open on package)

experience developing layouts of equipment (height, weight, dimensions and tolerances) these will be provided by the engineers but need to understand how they play into the detailing and final piece

experience drafting

experience drafting detailed multi-view drawings of assemblies, subassemblies and mono-details

experience determining sizes, shapes and fit to components to be designed

any sort of metal or aluminum or steel design experience is a plus

design and execute engineering tests of components or assemblies - once they are up in running they are going to be able to take on more test opportunities if they want

experience creating bills of material for components and assemblies is a plus
