PMH Associates, Inc., is a mechanical & electrical consulting engineering firm located in southern New Jersey near Philadelphia. Our associates provide energy modeling, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing engineering services to clients throughout the United States. The PMH mission is to provide engineering services with the highest level of quality and expertise in a timely and ethical manner.
Our mechanical department is seeking a mechanical engineer or designer with zero to two years of experience in energy modeling and/or HVAC and plumbing design to work on a variety of projects. Typical client projects include institutional, multi-use properties, office buildings, multi-family residential, restaurants, manufacturing facilities, storage facilities, assisted living, educational facilities, and tenant fit-out projects. Because you will be involved in several projects at one time, involving several team members, we are looking for good communicators who are able to multi-task and work well with others.
The candidate will be responsible for the design of HVAC and plumbing systems, preparing construction documents for MEP projects, and conducting energy modeling analysis of structures, as well as preparing reports communicating energy analysis findings. This position requires regular interaction with contractors, field engineers, and clients to determine their needs and to develop plans for document completion or reports for energy-saving tax compliance.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Designing HVAC and Plumbing Systems
- Performing HVAC load calculations
- Making equipment selections
- Preparation of project specifications
- Knowledge of the Building Codes, ASHRAE Standards, and National Fire Protection Association Standards
- Perform energy modeling analysis for structures using hourly analysis programs
- Reports communicating energy analysis findings
Requirements Include:
- Must have U.S. citizenship
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of experience in the design of HVAC and/or plumbing
- Knowledge of AutoCAD
- Ability to read and understand architectural plans, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing plans
- Strong written and verbal communication and self-motivation required
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as relate to clients
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS or BAE in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
- Passage of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam
- Experience in energy analysis, modeling, and energy code compliance using Carrier HAP (Hourly Analysis Program)
- Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, Adobe DC, AutoCAD, and/or REVIT
- Experience with commercial, institutional, and residential building HVAC systems design & operation
