Our team of innovative game designers, software engineers, electrical and mechanical engineers work together to create a wide range of fun and exciting arcade games and entertainment experiences. Our Mechanical Design Engineers participate on development teams that transform loose concepts into great games. This individual designs components, mechanisms, subassemblies, and cabinetry for arcade games.


The position would suit a mid to senior level Mechanical Engineer looking to create unique game experiences on a variety of arcade redemption game platforms. A successful candidate must be able to adapt and extend their knowledge as projects dictate, as well as work effectively individually and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with design team to develop a plan to get a minimum viable product ready for field testing
  • Create 3D design drawings and finalized assembly drawings for arcade/amusement games
  • Validate and check drawings of other designers for completeness and conformance to industry standards.
  • Work with suppliers to optimize designs for function, appearance and cost
  • Design and build test fixtures for longevity, functionality, and life testing
  • Design and build prototype units at various levels of refinement
  • Create BOM estimates for mechanical components to keep product cost on target
  • Visit local game rooms for observation and monitoring of early prototypes

Materials and Equipment Utilized:

  • Heavy use of PC for 3D design
  • Familiarity with woodworking, metal fabrication and rapid prototyping equipment desired
  • Material range from wood products, sheet metal and plastics

Working Environment:

  • Engineering Office environment-80%
  • Product Development Shop-20%
  • Game Room locations
Requirements:

Education/Training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and 4-5 years’ work experience\

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven self starter with the ability to develop creative technical solutions for new products
  • Experience using Solidworks PDM system
  • Familiarity with Engineering Change processes
  • Experience designing fabricated parts and mechanisms
  • Ability to use various hand tools and powered fabrication equipment
  • Must be able to work as part of a fast-paced cross-functional team
  • Creative, organized and hungry to learn new and different design methods
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Able to work on multiple projects and priorities and adapt to changing situations
  • Familiarity with metal working, wood working equipment, 3D Printing
  • Mechanical design using SolidWorks 3D modeling software
  • Knowledge of processes and material selection for wood, plastic and sheet metal
  • Requires a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to operate small to large box/delivery trucks as needed.

Travel Requirements:

  • 10% to Tradeshows and/or Game Room Test Sites
  • Potential traveling between local Village companies

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. on occasion
