Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client is currently offering an opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a technically-driven team in Anderson, SC, with minimal functional management. The focus is on continuing to build on the established reputation in Europe and the Middle East and replicating the same success in the United States. This role requires a high level of self-drive, as our team members are expected to be proactive and overcome obstacles. The position is best suited for someone who enjoys tackling diverse challenges, working in a hands-on environment, and embracing the opportunities that come with working in a facility with a clean slate. The role provides an excellent chance to gain exposure to modeling and manufacturing drawings related to Busbar and Busbar tap boxes.
Responsibilities: Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the ideal candidate will undertake the following tasks, along with other relevant duties assigned by organizational leadership:

• Provide support to Senior Engineer staff for project-specific requirements in the Busbar line of business.
• Generate SolidWorks models and drawings as needed for each project/site requirement.
• Perform initial project setup on the ERP system IFS.
• Load production systems with material requirements from approved drawings.
• Compile Technical Drawing Submittals for Engineers' review before customer issuance.
• Organize project material according to the agreed-upon site schedule and maintain a rolling progress report.
• Establish and reinforce document control for each project.
• Set up and conduct tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to assess design, with a focus on improving performance, overall design, quality, and safety.

Qualifications:
Minimum Job Qualifications:

• 2-year degree in an engineering-related field.
• 2 years of post-qualifying experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and databases like Access.
• A proactive and flexible approach to working within a team environment.
• Proficient in 3D drawing packages, with SolidWorks experience being preferable.
• Ability to self-manage, be self-motivated, and meet project milestones.
• Innovative problem-solving skills.
• Professional verbal and written communication.

Education and Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree.
