Mechanical And Electrical Drafter

VES is seeking a Mechanical and Electrical Drafter to become a part of our team! You will prepare detailed working diagrams of machinery as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

• 5 plus years previous experience in mechanical drafting, manufacturing, or other related fields
• ANSE Y14.5-2009 understanding and application
• 2 plus years previous experience in electrical design and drafting in high and low voltage applications
• 2 plus years SolidWorks drafting software experience.
• Experience with or 2D drafting software
• Create preliminary design sketches for conceptual analysis
• Create engineering drawings and designs for production and manufacturing
• Create design specifications, documentation, and material lists
• Estimate material and production costs for designs
• Prepare complete documentation packages for engineers
• Verify drawings are correct to specifications, codes, and other regulations
• Developing technical reports for engineers
• Ability to multitask and manage several projects at a time
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Interpersonal skills to work within a team, taking direction from Project Managers and Engineers
• Time management skills to complete error-free work within the required timeframe
• Communication skills with an emphasis on reading and writing for creating documentation and reports
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop creative solutions
• Familiarity with machine designs and diagrams
• Review and modify designs to reduce production deficiencies
• Familiarity with SolidWorks PDM or similar data management tool (AutoDesk Vault, PTC Windchill, etc).
• Basic Microsoft Word and Excel
• Welding and fabrication processes and knowledge a plus
• Available for occasional travel
• High level knowledge of SolidWorks including large assembly management
