We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Mechanical and Conveyors Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be a key contributor to the design, implementation, and optimization of mechanical systems and conveyor solutions within our automotive manufacturing plant, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and precision in our manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
- Prioritize safety above all to protect our team members, partners, and customers.
- Design, analyze, and optimize mechanical systems and conveyor solutions for BIW manufacturing processes.
- Develop and implement conveyor systems, including Power and Free, Friction Drive Conveyor, Vertical Drop Lifts, Fork Transfer, and other specialized conveyor technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand BIW design requirements and provide expertise on Mechanical and conveyor system feasibility and optimization.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for proposed Mechanical and conveyor projects, providing comprehensive recommendations for implementation.
- Work closely with product engineering and production teams to integrate innovative technologies, including conveyors, for process improvement.
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of mechanical systems and Conveyors.
- Collaborate with external suppliers to source, evaluate, and implement innovative Mechanical and conveyor technologies.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer with expertise in designing and optimizing conveyors for manufacturing processes.
- In-depth knowledge of conveyor systems, including Power and Free, Friction Drive Conveyor, Vertical Drop Lifts, Fork Transfer, and related technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments.
- Experience with CAD software for mechanical system design and conveyor layout.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and quality in mechanical system and conveyor design.
- Experience with control system design, PLC programming, HMIs, and automation technologies, with proficiency in Rockwell/Allen Bradley systems, and interfacing with MES systems.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer with a focus on conveyor system design in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive industry.
