Meals on Wheels Delivery and Support

Help us deliver nutritious meals to our VPAS Cafes and to homebound seniors in the Staunton, Waynesboro and Augusta County area. VPAS is accepting applications for a part-time Meals on Wheels Delivery and Support position.

This position is needed Monday through Thursday. The hours are 8:30a.m.- 2:00p.m. except for Tuesdays which are 8:30a.m. – 3:30p.m. for a total of 23.5 hours per week.

The Meals on Wheels (MOW) Delivery and Support person will package meals by routes, load boxes of meals into vehicles, transport meals to MOW volunteer pick up locations, and deliver assigned MOW routes. They will also provide substitute coverage for staff transporting seniors to VPAS Cafes, medical appointments, and other community destinations. The position is responsible for conducting itemized vehicle checks on VPAS vehicles prior to driving them.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful candidates must have excellent driving skills, customer service, communication, organization and time management skills; and be able to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail, compliance with confidentiality rules, and sensitivity in working with vulnerable populations are required. Must also be able to lift and carry boxes up to 30 pounds.
