Garrett College invites applications for a full-time Mathematics Faculty position. This 10- month faculty position (Assistant/Associate Professor rank based on qualifications and experience) is responsible for the preparation, development, and presentation of classroom material; the academic advisement of students; and participation in assessment and the academic planning process. Faculty at Garrett College carry a 15-credit/semester teaching load. Some evening and weekend hours required. Some off-campus teaching is required.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or related field from an accredited institution. (Graduate coursework must include a minimum of 18 credits in mathematics.)
- A commitment to teaching excellence and the mission of a community college education.
- Minimum two years college teaching experience required, community college level preferred.
- Demonstrated teaching competency in both developmental and college level mathematics.
Garrett is a small, public, two-year College nestled in the rural mountains of Western Maryland and is approximately a two-hour drive from Pittsburgh and a three-hour drive from Washington, DC and Baltimore. The area’s most popular tourist attraction is Deep Creek Lake, the largest fresh water lake in Maryland. Garrett county is also home to WISP Resort, a full season resort with multiple ski slopes, golf courses, and outdoor activities. The college is located in an area of Maryland with a general population of around 30,000.
Hiring Range: Assistant Professor: $58,415 to $69,460; Associate Professor: $64,403 to $76,579.
