Summary
Operator is assigned to salvage/disposition of scrap parts, grinding and machine/misc. clean-up. Responsible for ensuring adequate amounts of proper materials are available at the production line/press to run customer orders. Ensures proper use of regrind across the plant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Has read and understands the N-K Employee Policy manual and conforms daily to rules and understands disciplinary program.
- Salvages/dispositions scrap/reject product as instructed.
- Prepares and mixes ingredients for production based on quantities provided on the work instructions.
- Keeps scrap records up to date per instructions and procedures.
- Grinds scrap and other parts as instructed.
- Remove metal from plastic before grinding.
- Responsible for weighing and properly tagging material being returned to warehouse storage.
- Cleans hoppers, bins, grinders and feed lines.
- Inspects grinder daily to verify it is working properly.
- Cleans up work area(s) at shift end or job completion.
- Works with team members/management to ensure 100% on time delivery of product and reduce scrap.
- Participate in plant inventories.
- Assist with providing support for production when required.
- Assist in labeling product received from outsourced molders
- Cycle counts of totes and warehouse locations.
- Cleaning of totes per work instruction.
- Any other duties that may be assigned but not specifically identified.
