CK Power is looking for a Materials Manager at our St. Louis, MO location. The Materials Manager will oversee the planning of material requirements, supply, and schedule to support production/assembly. You will work closely with the Supply Chain, Production, Sales, and Engineering departments to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, continuity, and delivery from inventory to final product.
You will have intermittent exposure to a manufacturing and warehouse environment, and will be required to operate a forklift.
What You’ll Do:
- Evaluate and plan material requirements in conjunction with the Supply Chain and Production departments.
- Plan/forecast production and material requirements in conjunction with other departments
- Align demand/forecast with sourcing activities.
- Define and execute on physical inventory.
- Align inventory requirements with sales and operations planning, as well as the forecast/demand schedule.
- Develop or maintain reports, analytics, and metrics.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and gain efficiencies in inventory, supply chain, and production.
- Ensure all current and new hire employees within this department receive required training needed to meet optimal success. Training falls into four keys areas: compliance/regulatory, policies and procedures, on-the-job instruction, and employee development.
- Ensure compliance with all legal requirements, customer specifications, and company policies and procedures.
What You’ll Need:
- BS/BA Business Administration or relevant field.
- Minimum of 7 years of direct experience in manufacturing, production, and supply chain. Knowledge of sheet metal/mechanical manufacturing environments.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills. Ability to monitor team performance.
- Strong computer skills and understanding of Manufacturing Operating Systems/Enterprise Resource Planning systems.
- Kanban experience.
- Proven ability to identify and initiate process improvements. Ability to identify and utilize key resources.
- Experience in Six Sigma.
- Proven understanding of financial management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Friendly and customer-focused attitude.
- Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven attitude.
- Strong ethical conduct.
