Job Description

Walker SCM is looking for a full-time Materials Manager for our operation in Louisville, Kentucky who is responsible for supporting all purchasing, shipping, receiving and warehouse personnel and activities while providing direction and leadership. Additionally, the Materials Manager strives to achieve and maintain consistency and accuracy in accordance with established goals. We are looking for the right person who shares our philosophy of Operational Excellence daily. primary objective is to deliver the right part, to the right place, at the right time.

Responsibilities

• Interfaces with carriers and sets up pickups/deliveries as needed.
• Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff relating to material management.
• Obtain maximum efficient use of manpower and equipment while meeting plant requirements and delivery schedules.
• Recommend manpower and production capacity changes to provide maximum customer service on a timely basis.
• Forecast and monitor daily inventory at all levels to assure accuracy and control levels to meet established objectives.
• Monitor QOS trends for all warehouse processes and uses KPI trends to improve operational performance and productivity

Experience and Education Requirements

• Bachelor Degree within Material Control/Logistics or related field
• Minimum 5 years' related experience
• Warehouse experience preferred
• Must be able to read, write and comprehend English
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Proficient communication skills
