About the Role
The Materials Internship will provide students with opportunity to familiarize themselves with PFEP (planning for every part), AGV (automated guided vehicle), Lean digitized material flow applications, and packaging.
Your Responsibilities
PFEP
• Project Scope:
Plan for Every Part (PFEP) database generation- Excel based value stream mapping of material movements throughout plant
AGV
• Project Scope:
Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) applications- investigate potential opportunities to apply AGV’s to reduce/eliminate NVAA
Lean Digitized Material Flow Applications
• Project Scope:
Lean/digitized material flow applications- plant floor visibility, pull system, etc- work with ERP/MES applications to propagate lean/modern material practices
Long term- interns evolving into direct hires stream lines department talent development raising competency, moral, retention, etc
Packaging
• Project Scope:
Packaging optimization- investigate opportunity to streamline scope/scale of Holly packaging design specifications, materials, etc
Who we are looking for
Hands on experience in a plant environment working alongside variety of manufacturing disciplines- Engineering, Quality, Production, Launch, etc.
Your preferred qualifications
• Junior or Senior status students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in supply chain or business-related field.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
• Must have the ability to perform various tasks in a fast-paced environment.
