Job Summary:

At Caterpillar’s East Peoria, IL facility, we manufacture and assemble Track Type Tractors. In this role as a Material Planning Analyst, you will report to the Senior Manager Scheduling & Orders and will be primarily responsible for overseeing scheduling, planning, and overseeing material procurement, production, and delivery processes. As a member of the Supply Chain team, you will need to have a growth mindset, promote continuous improvement, and help build a defect-free culture. What you will do:

  • Participates in scheduling production and delivery processes in accordance with current productivity and cost efficiency standards.

  • Develops and executes Material Planning for a product line to ensure that all material requirements for assigned programs are met within the allocated time frame.

  • Organizes the flow of materials within the manufacturing unit and the transferring of materials to and from the inventory or warehouse.

  • Generates forecasts and manages replenishment planning for parts and materials to ensure specified service levels are met.

What Skills you will have:

  • Planning - Tactical & Strategic : Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

  • Effective Communications : Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  • Cross-Team Integration : Understanding of the importance of inter-team collaboration in breaking down silos and achieving business results; ability to lead employees from various functions to communicate, coordinate work across divisions, and collaborate in solving problems as one team.

  • Forecasting : Knowledge of forecasting tools, approaches and practices; ability to determine product demand and estimate production requirements and loads.

  • Production Scheduling and Control : Knowledge of procedures and tools for scheduling and controlling production runs; ability to utilize knowledge of daily manufacturing processes to assure quality deliverables.

Education and experience Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree; in lieu of degree 6+ years of Supply Chain/Material Planning experience

  • 3+ years of Supply Chain experience

The primary location for this position is East Peoria, IL
