 KAMTEK is a premier Tier 1, automotive manufacturing supplier that specializes in Class “A” Stamping, Assembly and High Pressure Die Casting that produces Body-side and Door Openings, Roofs, Floor Pans, Wheelhouses, Large Welded Assemblies, Doors, Fenders, Hoods, Lift-gates, Aluminum Shock Towers, and Aluminum Rear Rails. About the Role

The Material Planner is accountable for the timely availability of supplied-material, service items and maintenance items required by the production and supply schedules; and in conformance to specified quantities, engineering levels, design standards, functionality, geometry, performance and features. The Material Planner is responsible for scheduling and expediting supplied material delivery for all inbound materials required in production, service items and maintenance while adhering to KAMTEK’s plant standards and upholding the Magna Employee’s Charter.

Your Responsibilities

  1. Monitor MRP (Forecasts, Stock on hand, customer demand, production schedule, inventory transactions and reject material) on all related production material to protect production and reduce cost
  2. Plan, Forecast, Schedule and Release supplied material demands to meet our production requirements;
  3. Follow-up on delivery timing and expedite the material as needed through line delivery
  4. Follow-up and validate carrier appointments (specified carrier arrival times to avoid excess traffic density)
  5. Special project and campaign assignments, tasks and duties as assigned by management from time to time – including but not limited to: Program launches, software launches, training initiatives, document creation, work instruction authoring, etc.
  6. Use ERP System (CMS) as the Primary means of creating, monitoring and communicating schedules, inventory quantities, releases and forecasts.
  7. Forecast Raw Material to all suppliers (mill sources, processors, blankers, etc.)
  8. Track production and forecast trends to help predict future scheduling needs – audit production rates, pack quantities, scrap factors and cycle times
  9. Generate and Send regular Raw Material releases to all suppliers
  10. Ensure continual material flow into all required locations

Maintain proper lean inventory levels on all raw materials in accordance to process capabilities

Who we are looking for

-Ability to work in a team environment or independently to perform duties with little supervision.

-Ability to communicate with team members on all shifts and possess good mathematical and   organizational skills.

-Ability to adequately perform all above job requirements within the timeframe allotted to support the customer needs

-The environment is high pressure and requires extreme accuracy and attention to detail

-The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with team members, leaders, customers and suppliers

-Overtime as required

-Mathematical skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions; the Metric and Imperial Measurement System; data analysis and statistical techniques.

-Decision making abilities to create a win, win, win situation in support of the three legged stool (Customer, Investor, People)

Your preferred qualifications

EDUCATION:  High School Diploma or GED required. Associate’s Degree in business administration or certified 2 year training program for the material scheduling profession; or Four years verifiable work experience in same profession is acceptable in lieu of formal education.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

WHAT TYPES?  Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Related experience in Inventory Control, demand planning, production planning, or supply chain management is preferred.
