Position Overview
This role involves buying and planning of sourced finished goods items including end-to-end reconciliation of purchase orders/releases to vendor payment. The focus includes fostering strong vendor relationships, managing item maintenance, exceeding KPIs, establishing and maintaining standard work procedures, initiating and driving problem-solving and continuous improvement in planning and buying activities. Other tasks as assigned.
- Ensure proper safety stock levels for each SKU, considering historical sales, seasonality, lead time, and SIOP forecast. Implement inventory plans to align with customer service targets.
- Apply min-max or time phased planning techniques.
- Required to use Operational Excellence tools such as 9-Step / A3 Thinking, actively participate in RIEs, VSAs, and build relationships with OpEx coaches.
- Engaged in the SIOP cycle, involving PSI, Demand Review, Supply Review, as well as participating in yearly AOP and standard cost updates.
- Tracking and reporting of goods in-transit.
- Manage supply plan to meet SIOP and corporate objectives. Regularly review and adjust the supply plan to accommodate changes and spikes in demand.
- Achieve Available to Commit, Fill Rate, and inventory YOY targets (Dollars, Turns and Days on Hand)
- Provide the vendor a 6-to-18 month projected buy plan.
- Use Line-of-Balance reporting to react and mitigate material shortages.
- Accountable for item maintenance, including the creation and enrichment of model numbers, updating and superseding SKUs, and establishing attributes and categories.
- Manage Purchase Order maintenance, involving the creation of release or PO, upkeep of promise/delivery dates, maintenance of price adjustments, handling model change updates on POs/Blankets/Releases, reconciling overages and shortages, and performing vendor payment reconciliation as required.
- Cultivate and sustain positive working relationships across departments, including Product management, Procurement, Engineering, Transportation, Customer Service, Finance, Warehousing, SIOP, DSO planning.
- Implement corrective actions and counter measures to meet material availability targets within the value stream.
- Track and maintain Trane Technologies metrics and KPIs, providing reporting as needed.
- Employ Oracle Reporting, Servigistics, Tableau, Alteryx, Excel, Power Point Windchill, and Demantra. Develop and sustain tools, reports, and presentations.
- Oversee inventory throughout the phase-in/phase-out process in New Product Introductions, minimizing obsolescence while fully meeting sales demand. Develop and implement processes to reduce excess and obsolete inventory.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Oracle R12, Servigistics and/or other ERP experience.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Applications especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- APICS certification or Lean experience considered a plus.
- Working knowledge of advanced analytic tools (Alteryx, Tableau, etc.)
- Item Creation and Maintenance.
- Previous buying experience and working with vendors.

Location: This is a remote opportunity
Base Pay Range: $65,000 - $90,000 annually
