Job Title: Material Handler
FLSA Status: Hourly
Reports to: Shipping Supervisor
Summary of Job:
This is an entry level of employment. Under general supervision perform a variety of duties involving parts, raw materials, issuing, handling, and accounting for inventory stock.
Key Results & Duties:
- Ensures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product final distribution.
- Contributes to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area.
- Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages.
- Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
- Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and making operator repairs.
- Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signals machine operators to move materials onto and off trucks, ships, and loading docks.
- Keeps inventory, loading areas, and machinery clean.
- Organize and maintain inventory locations for efficient material storage and handling
- Efficiently pick orders ensuring correct number any type of product is delivered
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
Must have experience in the following job skills:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Organizational skills
- Ability to read and analyze Information
- Adept at handling multiple complex tasks simultaneously
- Proficiency with prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlines
- Excellent time management
- Process improvement mindset
- Knowledge of inventory control
- Ability to lift heavy materials
- Data entry skills
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification.
