Base pay $18 hourly + $1.00 shift differential

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Material Handler II will aid in the moving and stocking of materials by operating an industrial truck which may include, stand-up, sit-own forklift, and/or reach lift. The Material Handler II will perform general labor duties as needed within the facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage, production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, or utilizing the proper forklift.
• Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
• Stage materials in locations such as transit areas using pallets or cargo boards
• Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets
• Record damage reports and maintain daily logs
• Inspect product load for accuracy and safely move it around the warehouse to ensure timely and complete delivery
• Weigh, wrap, and box materials
• Perform routine maintenance, such as cleaning and recharging batteries
• Utilize proper alerts and other safety measures when operating equipment
• Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace, moving waste to dumpsters as needed

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE

• 1 yr experience operating forklifts
• Must have achieved prior certification (will be certified on site)
• Read, write and communicate in English
• Good oral and written communication skills

REQUIRED EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required
