What a Blackeagle Material Handler can expect to do:
- Performs daily inspections.
- Reports all deficiencies, unusual noises, or difficulties in the operation of equipment.
- Receives and delivers material from vendors and common carriers.
- Always ensure proper storage of materials and goods.
- Consistently maintains and cleans the yard.
- Identifies material to be placed into production, verifying correct tag and heat numbers.
- Determines weight of material and utilizes forklift with the appropriate capacity.
- Properly secures material on forklift before moving.
- Ensures a safe workplace by maintaining awareness of co-workers in the area.
- Follows all company policy procedures, watches for potential risks in the area and notifies management of deficiencies identified.
- Attends all training and safety meetings as directed.
- Performs other tasks as directed.
- Maintain and complete records of materials, including receiving and shipments.
- Operate various lifting units (telehandler, forklifts, combi-lift, pallet jack, dollies, etc.)
- Keep material staged together, when possible, Keep yard organized and free of debris and dunnage.
- Inspects material for discrepancies.
- Identifies material to be placed into production, verifying correct tag and heat numbers.
- Assists in the removal of fabricated pieces from fabrication shop.
- Loads trucks and creates packing slips for outgoing deliveries.
- Ensure shipments are accurate and meet critical deadlines.
- Performing unpacking of shipment deliveries
- Ensure shipping paperwork is submitted accurately.
- Tracks, traces, and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Promptly unloads deliveries and sorts and stocks receivables.
- Ensure shipments are accurate and notify project managers of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.
- Creating mailing labels and performing other clerical duties as needed
- Lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Minimum 2 years forklift experience with large steel beams and pipe preferred.
- 1 to 2 years in shipping/receiving role.
- Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities independent of direct supervision, work alone and in a team environment.
- Has familiarity with gas & oil, piping, and fittings a plus.
- Ability to develop a good working knowledge of product and inventory control techniques and procedures.

- Able to work independently and within a team.
- Technologically competent and proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to work Saturday’s when needed.
- $18 – $24/hour DOE
