We are currently seeking a Material Handler to join our Adrian Steel of Maryland team located in Baltimore, MD. A successful candiate can demonstrate the following:
- Identify parts needed and bin locations from paper invoices
- Picking ordered parts from storage shelves/bins by part number from invoices and ability to stage in correct bays
- Understanding of OEM products
- Operating handling equipment according to company safety regulations
- Performing general warehouse duties as necessary
The key behaviors/skills required for this role are:
- Full understanding of KanBan
- Knowledge of industry safety regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail
- Ability to support the Inventory Manager
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Education required for this role:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent bending/twisting at the neck and trunk area
- Physical ability to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds (with assistance)
- Vision requirements include, close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Frequent standing, sitting, walking, carrying of items, reaching, handling, kneeling, crouching, bending
- Frequent squatting, stooping, or kneeling, and reaching above the head and reach forward
- Continuous use of hand strength to grasp tools and climb on to ladders and into vehicles
Additional Requirements:
- Fork Lift and Reach Truck experience required
- Must meet and maintain all requirements to be a “Driver” as defined in Adrian Steel Fleet Corporate Driving Policy
- Valid driver’s license
- Acceptable driving record (Adrian Steel authorized)
