What you’ll be doing:

In the Material Coordinator, Overhead Support position, you’ll support multiple CDC warehouse functions when assigned personnel is on leave; clerical, property inventory/property disposal program, fork lift operation, receiving and distribution.

You will also be responsible for the following:

• Respond to internal (CDC property managers and agency employees) and external (federal, state and local government and potential customers) customers request through email and telephone concerning property disposals and transfers and coordinate/schedule appointments for warehouse visits.
• Explain excess property screening and requesting procedures to federal, state and eligible recipients.
• Receive transaction documents from GSA and process accordingly.
• Prepare excess property for commercial shipping.
• Provide various status reports on excess property (e.g. 993 form and non-accountable worksheet processed, warehouse location of processed and stored excess property, property disposition timeline classification (SharePoint, Federal Review, State and Local Review, general sales, Abandonment and Destruction, Final Event, and Final Event tracking and validation)
• Research and validate GSA documents including but not limited to sale/disposition notifications, allocation notifications and transfer orders.
• Prepare and submit for LMSO approval disposal communications for CDC Staff members (e.g. CDC Connects, CDC Info, “reuse property of the week/month” advertising emails).
• Identify, analyze and resolve or make a recommendation to resolve a broad range of property disposal issues or problems (e.g. research and provide solution to excess bar code label numbers inquires).
• Provides technical advice, guidance and assistance to Property Custodial Officers in areas related to the utilization and disposal of personal property.
• Report excess property to GSA agency thru GSAXcess module to include photographing and assigning report numbers to accompany all items reported for transfer to various federal agencies.
• Perform inspection of excess items to determine condition code and whether items were to be salvaged to recycling or re-issue to various federal agencies, schools or non-profit organizations.

Requirements:

• 2 years’ experience CDC warehouse operations
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of clerical experience.
• Must be knowledgeable and proficient in MS Office applications
• Must handle all information with the strictest of confidence.
• Must possess excellent time management and organizational skills. Must have attention to detail.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.
