Job description

In this support role, the Materials Coordinator will interact with suppliers, clients, project managers, procurement managers and supervise materials staff, to ensure the planning, tracking, receiving, warehousing, issuing and overall management of Worley and client materials. Performs functions with the requisitioning, receiving, issuing, and transporting of materials.
This position is located at the Worley Alaska Inc. Anchorage Fabrication Shop and is a full-time, non-rotational position.
Essential Job Functions:
Material Coordinators shall work all aspects of material handling, depending on individual capabilities, qualifications and project needs and as directed by the Procurement Manager. General job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Complete all activities in a safe and productive manner.
• Review field material requests for completeness and enter requisitions into the procurement system, obtain approvals and submit completed requisition packages to the Procurement group.
• Assist in obtaining pricing and availability from suppliers.
• Expedite materials for Fabrication Shop projects and update procurement status reports.
• Attend weekly client status meetings as required.
• Provides material status for all projects as required by Worley or Client.
• Coordinate material off-loading. At no time shall the employee operate equipment he is not qualified to run. Approved operators shall be utilized for off-loading.
• Material receiving, which includes proper handling, identification of material, any special handling /storage requirements, hazardous considerations, any OS&D issues, proper marking of material and notification of qualified personnel (QC / Engineering / Discipline Supervisors) for assistance in receiving specialty items as needed.
• Material storage and inventory control to include bagging and tagging.
• Material issuing.
• Material entry into the electronic database for both material purchases and for the master material log.
• Packaging material for storage and shipping - including labeling for proper identification of material and shipping information.
• Filling out shipping documents and transfer of information to electronic database.

  • Safely climb ladders.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Working knowledge of production and construction materials related to oilfield operations and the petrochemical industry in an arctic environment.
• Ability to prepare reports and correspondence as required.
• Ability to relate to and work with personnel in all levels of an organization required.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and competing demands simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to establish and maintain a rapport and strong working relationship with co-workers and client representatives.
• Operates well in multi-company team environment.
• Prompt, pro-active, and driven worker.

• Three (3) years of material or field Material Coordinator experience in relation to oilfield, module fabrication, mechanical piping, electrical and components.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, excel, and ability to train within the Worley ERM procurement system.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Valid driver's license and the ability to be covered by Worley auto insurer.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with petrochemical or oilfield construction material related to oilfield operations and the petrochemical industry in an arctic environment.
• Familiarity with industrial piping and structural material.
• Prior Fabrication Shop experience.
