KBA's Business Development and Marketing team supports our project managers in project pursuits and proposals and works with each department in various capacities. We are at the perfect size where the team can both specialize in what we love to do and try new things.
We are largely cross-trained in all Marketing activities and collaborate to cover all the SMPS domains of practice (research, planning, client and business development, proposals, promotional activity, and management).
We are currently seeking to add a Marketing/Pursuit Coordinatorto our growing Business Development and Marketing team. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, a strong writer, technically knowledgeable of AEC marketing with strong communication skills and a can-do attitude. Be part of a thriving team actively planning and delivering creative designs and solutions. The ability to anticipate and solve problems with nearly obsessive attention to detail pretty much sums up the KBA difference.
What you'll be doing:
Overall Marketing
  • Experience translating technical work and writing into marketing materials.
  • Write communications copy for review and editing by others with minimal edits/changes.
  • Assist in developing press releases, blog posts, white papers, and miscellaneous marketing materials.
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal marketing staff, core business function managers, and project managers.
  • Assist with gathering market research.

Proposal Preparation
  • Demonstrated experience managing and preparing SOQs and proposals.
  • Independently manage the full proposal lifecycle by collaborating with internal and external team members and partners, including research, strategizing win themes, planning, preparing, writing, designing, and producing all proposal and interview materials.
  • Lead kickoff and strategy, proposal review, and deliverables-planning meetings as needed.
  • Develop interview presentation materials and coach teams.

Proposal Data
  • Create, track, and maintain marketing materials, such as:
    • Resumes
    • Project descriptions and data
    • Client testimonials
    • Photography
    • Brochures
  • Proposal closeout

Brand/Quality
  • Maintain and enforce company brand standards and quality control procedures.

Requirements
What you'll need to be successful (minimum requirements):
  • BA/BS in business administration, marketing, communications, English, journalism, or similar. Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Requires 4-10 years of hands-on experience in A/E/C proposal preparation/coordination, layout design, writing and copyediting.
  • Requires 4+ years of desktop publishing experience.
  • Experience with the following at an intermediate to expert level Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint)
  • Strong writing skills to create press releases, proposal copy, white papers, blog posts, etc.
  • A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required.
  • Able to lift 25 pounds, such as boxes of records, is required.

What we'd love if you had (preferred requirements):
  • Excellent Adobe Creative Cloud skills - Specifically InDesign and Illustrator for efficient workflow using templates and paragraph, character, and object styles (other programs are a bonus).
  • Experience using Canva and Grammarly.
