Role
The Marketing Strategist will work closely with various teams, including Lending, Operations, Marketing, Business Development, and Finance, to develop advertising and promotion strategies for the credit union. This role will implement targeting, competitive, and positioning brand strategies to align with the credit union's business objectives. In collaboration with the Marketing team, the Marketing Strategist will be responsible for defining data-driven strategies to drive acquisition and build awareness.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Track, measure, monitor, analyze and interpret performance data related to marketing, Member acquisition, product acquisition and usage, profitability, campaign performance, ROI and other key performance indicators. Use product and market knowledge to segment Members and prospects; generate marketing lists using internal and external data sources. Collect and analyze data on all marketing efforts and acquisition channels.
Identify target segments and create marketing lists for email, direct mail, digital advertising, and other campaigns based on credit union objectives.
Implement campaign strategies within advertising systems. Monitor advertising budgets and make strategic recommendations for improvements. Create data insights and optimize marketing goals, budgets, and results
Gather information on competitors and conduct analysis on their products, prices, and positioning and identify opportunities.
Create weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on marketing efforts.
Participate in the development of marketing strategies, research and planning.
Work with other teams to coordinate data importing, reporting, and other tasks.
Manage the regular updating of marketing systems.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
Five or more years of relevant marketing experience
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.
The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Demonstrated digital marketing and advertising proficiency including experience managing, tracking and evaluating results. Strong knowledge of Google Ads, Google Analytics and other tracking platforms. Strong knowledge of computer systems, cloud software, databases and reporting systems. An understanding of consumer behavior, consumer segmentation and the financial industry. Ability to track, monitor, and evaluate campaigns and make recommendations. Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing and interpreting consumer data and market trends. Ability to independently make advertising strategy decisions. Strong reporting skills, with the ability to clearly communicate and present strategies and ideas. Proficiency in MS Excel. Experience with CRM systems. Must be able to travel independently and operate all types of general office equipment including PC. Strong initiative and creativity.
