Reporting to the General Manager, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for marketing the venue and events while creating and maintaining relationships with media and promotional partners. The Marketing Manager is responsible for graphic design, advertising, interactive media, ticketing analysis, promotions, public relations and grassroots efforts for all events.
This role will pay a salary of $50,000 to $60,000.

Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena is located on the campus of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. The 5,000-seat arena is the home to the UMBC Retriever Men’s and Women’s basketball teams and Women’s volleyball. The multi-purpose venue is managed by OVG360 and hosts a variety of events including concerts, commencements, family shows, community events, consumer shows, featured speakers, and banquets.
- Develop, maintain and coordinate event and facility advertising programs, collateral material, and opportunities
- Create and maintain relationships with local media partners and promoters
- Prepare of monthly marketing reports and participate in corporate conference calls with other entities
- Prepare various reports on public relations progress, marketing efforts/results, ticketing analysis, demographics and economic trends, including event recaps
- Monitor Social Media networks; administer the scheduling of posts and respond and communicate with fans directly via day-to-day digital marketing, including but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Google Analytics, Tik Tok, etc.
- Manage marketing efforts between promoters, artist management and local media
- Pitch stories, write press releases, create public relations events, and implement media drops
- Coordinate and manage grassroots efforts including poster & flier distribution, community appearances and overall marketing campaigns to maximize event awareness and exposure
- Update website, marquee and in-arena digital display systems
- Email the database with email campaigns regarding show info, pre-sales, post event surveys, etc.
- Create programs to maximize ticket sales, such as third party partnerships, and new media avenues
- Develop and implement event marketing plans and promotions
- Work closely with the venue Corporate Sales Department to execute in-game marketing/sales assets and work closely with University Athletics to ensure these assets are written into the game day scripts
- Perform graphic design using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effect and Premiere
- Interact with other departments when working on various projects
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- Minimum 4 years experience in Marketing field
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Hospitality/Sports Management, Business or a related field is preferred
- Basic knowledge & interest in marketing and advertising functions
- Intermediate to strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- Understands the concept of branding
- Power user of social media tools with a solid understanding of how to drive consumer engagement within online social networks
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Previous event or entertainment marketing experience a plus
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in the English language
- Well organized with ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments
- Flexible-must be available to work evenings, weekends, and all event days as assigned
- Team player who is creative and a proactive problem solver
