Job Summary:
Rush Education and Career Hub (REACH) is a cradle-to-career pipeline of programs that provide innovative, hands-on STEM learning to underrepresented youth so they can reach their academic and professional potential, with the goal to increase postsecondary education and interest in STEM and healthcare careers. REACH is part of the Office of Community Health Equity and Engagement (CHEE) at Rush University Medical Center.
The Marketing and Communications Intern is responsible for managing the Rush Education and Career Hub s social media platforms and helping with communication campaigns and marketing projects. This role offers the intern experience in creating content and developing a strategy to increase engagement with the key target audience. The intern will work closely with REACH team members as well as other teams within CHEE, other departments at Rush, and community partners. This role will be instrumental in increasing our social media presence, solidifying our brand, and raising awareness of our programs within Rush and in the community.
This is a paid, part-time internship (start date as soon as possible)
Hours: 20 hr/wk (between M-F 8:00am-5:30pm)
Job Responsibilities:
Create and schedule social media content for all REACH programs across key social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook)
Create and implement engagement strategy to reach target audience and increase awareness
Collaborate internally and externally to find new marketing avenues
Help with marketing and communication projects, which may include:
o Email campaigns
o Quarterly newsletter
o Program and event flyers
o Website updates
o Annual report
Other duties as assigned
Required Job Qualifications:
Undergraduate student studying marketing, communications, journalism, or other relevant major
Must be able to get academic credit for internship
A passion for community engagement and health equity
Proven written communication skills and a passion for creating marketing content and strategy
Excellent verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Familiarity with key social media platforms (i.e. Instagram, Twitter) and content creation platforms (i.e. Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe)
The ability to prioritize work and complete tasks with quick turnaround time
The ability to work collaboratively with a team
