Oversees the marketing and sales functions for the community. Markets and closes sales on Independent Living cottages and apartments to meet or exceed budget, maintaining full occupancy levels. Serves as a representative of Homewood with community and local organizations. Creates an annual marketing plan. Coordinates marketing materials, public relations, news releases and campus contributions to Fireside.
- Treats all information about residents, their condition, and family as confidential information.
- Complies with established Corporate and Departmental policies and procedures and maintains established standards and practices.
- Engages with prospective residents and families to share information about the community, provide tours and explain the CCRC product and contracts.
- Works closely with co-workers to coordinate all facility marketing efforts, news releases and Fireside.
- Plans and organizes special marketing and sales events.
- Plans and executes all facets of marketing and sales (telemarketing, direct mailings, speeches, newspaper, radio, television, etc.).
- Maintains good working relationships with vendors who support these efforts.
- Makes follow-up contacts to sales leads.
- Maintains all records and information associated with marketing and sales to ensure that data bases are up-to-date.
- Understands the resident contracts, negotiates, and completes them according to the Homewood policies and all regulatory requirements.
- Assists the resident and family with the move in/transfer process, as needed, and follows up to ensure expectations are met.
- Collaborates with the Maintenance Director and others, as needed, to ensure the timely turnover and renovation of units.
- Actively participates in system-wide marketing meetings and training.
- Coordinates and supports communications to residents i.e. annual rate increases, changes in policies/procedures, annual disclosure statements.
- Performs other functions as directed by the supervisor.
- Knowledge of professional marketing sales standards and techniques.
- Previous experience in marketing and sales, preferably in senior living.
- Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, and exercises sound judgment and reasoning.
- Ability to coach, mentor and collaborate with the sales counselor and volunteers, as well as other directors and co-workers.
- Has compassion, understanding and empathy for older persons.
- Ability to communicate to residents at a level they can understand.
- Ability to use a computer (Microsoft and Excel).
- Ability to close a sales agreement.
- Must possess a valid drivers license and have the ability to travel regionally and to other Homewood communities.
