About this position:
LMCU is looking for a Marketing Copywriter that will work with the marketing team to help formulate creative concepts and ideas. This position will be responsible for writing creative, engaging, persuasive, captivating and informative content in the form of SEO, blogs, articles, landing pages, support for the credit union's website, etc. Additionally, the Marketing Copywriter will be responsible for competitive research for certain business unit needs to inform their overall work for LMCU. This role will also be responsible for creative writing used in other marketing tactics like billboards, ads, social media posts, direct mail pieces, and radio ads. Business communication pieces could include press releases, sponsorships, and related.
What you'll do:
  • Develop and write impactful copy that supports the strategic goals of our internal business teams and enhances the creative messaging of our marketing projects.
  • Responsible for content creation and execution of all marketing campaign elements across the credit union's significant business units. Copywriting tactics include, but are not limited to, all member story content and messaging: direct mail, digital ads, TV commercial scripts, paid search terms, paid social ads, organic social post copy, website copy, blog copy, all copy in the newsletter, press releases, the Impact report, the annual report, all marketing emails to members and non-members, in-branch materials, commercial brochures and materials, ad and newspaper copy. A heavy emphasis will be on digital content creation (i.e. blog posts, online articles, email newsletters, podcasts, social media posts, websites, landing pages, and online ads).
  • Collaborate and work with the marketing team by providing creative ideas and suggestions in the development of marketing concepts and programs for our internal teams. This includes participating in meetings with internal business groups.
  • Continually research credit union and financial industry data to stay current on relevant trends impacting and potentially impacting, our business.
  • Develop a competitive data base to gain a firm understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of our competitions' products and services, points of differentiation, and of our opportunities so collectively a firm knowledge base is established from which to draw from to develop and write impactful copy.

What You'll Bring: You'll like this position if you have...
  • Three years to five years of copywriting experience required, or similar experience in a marketing role.
  • Strong proofreading experience and familiarity with standard style guides.
  • SEO and key search term experience is strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, advertising, English, journalism, or related field of study.
  • Knowledge of WorkZone preferred, or other content management systems.
  • Familiarity with writing for a wide variety of marketing mediums is preferred (i.e. newsletters/blog posts and brochures to billboard headlines and scripts for television broadcast and radio spots).
  • Familiarity with both Mac and PC Microsoft environments is a plus.
  • Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced creative environment.
  • Team-oriented creative with a desire to collaborate.
