Duties & Responsibilities:
Virginia Dare is seeking a passionate B2B marketing professional (with knowledge or experience in the food/beverage/flavor industry) skilled in interpreting, assessing, and assimilating market trends to translate them into insights and actions that support corporate strategy and engagement.
In this role, you will peruse Innova, trade publications, social media, and more to conduct market research and generate consumer insights. Using these insights, you’ll organize, analyze, and interpret the data to create stellar presentations, demos, and digital content to support Senior Management, Marketing, Business Development, and Sales.
You will help drive customer engagement and lead generation, alongside the Manager of Marketing & Consumer Insights and Business Development, through active development and management of corporate website, blog posts, white papers, press releases, editorial requests, email and direct mail communication, and other thought leadership and social media avenues.
To succeed in this position, you must effectively interface with diverse Virginia Dare groups such as Senior Management, Business Development, Sales, Applications, Flavor Chemistry, and Innovations. It is your job to keep Virginia Dare’s management properly informed of all relevant issues through clear, concise, timely and appropriate updates, both written and verbal.

Specific responsibilities include the following.
1. Marketing & Sales Initiatives
Support the Manager of Marketing & Consumer Insights and Business Development on marketing initiatives including but not limited to the following.
a. Market trend research
b. Social media presence
c. Category promotional program management
d. Trade show events and other public forums designed to promote Virginia Dare (including traveling to show locations to support activities)
e. Any other initiative that promotes Virginia Dare’s competencies and image to the market
f. Interface with and support the Virginia Dare sales team to provide customer specific content in response to specific requests
2. Trend & Market Monitoring
Monitor and maintain awareness of industry and market trends of relevance to Virginia Dare. This includes:
a. Assessment of emerging trends, identifying insights that impact Virginia Dare and/or its key customers
b. Interpretation and translation of market trends, enabling Business Development and Sales to turn them into actions delivering sales growth
c. Routine distribution of market trends to internal stakeholders and customers via a variety of formats including but not limited to the following:
- PowerPoint presentations
- Website, blog, and social media postings
- Email and direct mail communications
3. Lead Generation & Sales Funnel Management
Support the Commercial team in generating, validating, and managing leads.
a. Generate leads through the active posting and promotion of relevant content via corporate website, blog posts, white papers, press releases, editorial requests, email and direct mail communication, and other thought leadership and social media avenues.
b. Analyze external data sources to identify potential new leads.
c. Conduct initial screening of leads generated via website and social media platforms
d. Assist the Commercial team with assessing trade show generated leads.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Education: BA in Marketing, Communication, or related discipline
- B2B experience in the food industry and a passion for food a plus
- Social media and digital engagement experience preferred
- Able to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
- Able to work with cross-functional teams, interfacing with Senior Management, Sales, Applications, Flavor Chemistry, and Innovations
- Able to deliver accurate results within short time frame deadlines with limited direction and supervision
- Must have critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Must be organized and be able to deliver accurate results
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Cloud, Apple Keynote, presentation software, social media platforms preferred
