What does a day as a Marketing and PR Specialist look like?

As a Marketing and PR Specialist, it is safe to say that no day will look exactly the same! In this position, you are tasked with promoting brand, driving member growth, and positioning Leaders favorably within the financial services industry and the markets we serve. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for the copywriting needs of the credit union. Produces written content for marketing materials, advertising campaigns, social media, websites, blogs etc.
• Ensures all written content is consistent and meets branding guidelines.
• Oversees public relations including writing and distributing press releases, managing local media relationships, pitching stories, and scheduling media appearances.
• Serves as traffic manager to keep up with campaigns.
• Assists with planning and coordinating events for the credit union.
• Performs other job related duties as assigned.

What is the schedule? Typical office hours for this role are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Sometimes giving top-notch member service may require a little overtime, but we value work-life-balance and do our best to limit this.

Does your skillset and experience line up? For this role, we are looking for someone who:

• A bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Communications
• One to three years of professional writing, marketing or media relations experience
• Must have very strong communication (written and verbal) skills with the ability to explain decisions and reasoning behind those decisions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of Products (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
• Must maintain a professional, courteous, and friendly atmosphere for members and co-workers
• Must maintain a working knowledge of the credit union’s loan standards and governmental regulations.
