Job Description
SUMMARY:
Primary: The Communications Associate will be a part of the Development team and is responsible for implementing and optimizing all opportunities to tell A Safe Haven’s story using the brand's unique offerings within the industry through thought leadership, content development and creation, event promotion, website design, and social media.
Secondary: As the Communications Associate, you will assist with developing marketing goals and strategies for the organization and increasing its online presence. You will develop and curate engaging digital content for various platforms that will contribute to the success of the organization’s mission.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Email Marketing
• Grow our email list organically
• Create and deploy targeted email marketing campaigns (such as welcome series, website download follow-ups, new content releases, etc.)
• Segment database list based on behaviors and lead source
• Define KPIs, measure results, and optimize lead nurturing workflows to increase conversion
• Minimize list decay and unsubscribes while increasing the productivity of our email sends
Social Media Marketing
• Build and manage ASHF’s social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
• Craft dynamic and engaging content for a variety of audiences with a regular posting schedule
• Drive consistent, relevant traffic and leads from our social media presence • Promote ASHF’s materials, campaigns, and events
• Track, measure, and analyze social media campaign outcomes; make campaign adjustments based on metrics; report on outcomes to Development Manager
Website Management
• Regularly maintain and implement website updates to reflect upcoming events and to promote new content
• Track website usage and leverage insights to drive leads
Administration
• Assist with vendor management (marketing agency), and any future contracts with public relations and graphic design contractors
Media
• Responsible for managing all media inquiries and coordinating interviews with appropriate team members. Manage a list of media outlets for public relations opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Value our work and resonate with ASHF’s overall mission
• B.A. in marketing, communications, or other relevant field and 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred (bonus points if previous experience includes working on behalf of an educational/nonprofit organization)
• Demonstrated skill and knowledge of O365 and G Suite.
• Experience documenting, analyzing, and reporting on marketing metrics
• Familiarity with email marketing tools (e.g., Constant Contacts), website content management systems, and Canva or other graphic design tools preferred; familiarity with Salesforce and Google Analytics a plus
• Excellent understanding of email marketing concepts and metrics such as Sender Score, deliverability, and segmenting
• Strong writer who can understand key personas and maintain brand consistency
• Command of various social media networks and their best practices
• Highly analytical and able to derive meaning from data through A/B testing
• Highly organized and can juggle multiple projects while meeting deadlines
