Job description

The Regional Segment Manager, Power and Mining, is responsible for developing and executing the growth strategy for these segments. You will work closely with global and regional sales, product management, marketing, technical, and supply chain functions. 

Identify segments and business opportunities, developing the strategy with the different components such as: Product Portfolio, Price Positioning, Value Proposition, Distribution Channel, Marketing Material and Tactical Action Plans, to develop new accounts and ensure profitable and sustainable business growth aligned with PPG's strategy. You will report to the Director of Strategic Segments & Business Development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute global and regional segment strategies based on understanding of customer needs, industry and competitive dynamics, and PPG position.  Work with other stakeholders to drive execution.  Support overall business strategy processes.

  • Generate new business from market and competition research in order to ensure sustainable and profitable business growth and improve PPG's position in each segment.

  • Monitor the status and investment of projects related to the target markets, identifying a potential pipeline that is registered in the Company's CRM, in order to develop the technical and relationship strategy to convert potential clients into real and constant sales.

  •   Display the conversion of the Pipeline and its progress through the different phases of the marketing funnel ranging from awareness, consideration, active discussion, proposal and developing customer loyalty.

  • Industry and competitors:  monitor and evaluate industry and competitor developments, marketing actions, products, position, strengths and weaknesses to anticipate competitor response to SBU initiatives.  Analyze competitors' offerings and strategically position the PPG offerings appropriately to succeed.

  • Define gaps in the product portfolio in order to solve customer pain points that create value added propositions and proposals. Actively participate in the SBU new product development processes as they relate to the sub-segment market and customer needs to drive value added solutions.

  • Carry out the launch of new products in order to optimize the portfolio and make them known to potential clients, sales team and technicians, developing your marketing strategy. 

  •   Compile, prepare and update segment targeted value propositions in collaboration with the global segment, product, testing and certification and technical teams. Collaborate with Marketing Communication teams to create the relevant content and cascade these effectively into internal sales training and external sales and marketing activities.

  • Achieve budgeted sales and profit plan for the Market Segment within the identified region.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School Diploma, Bachelor's degree or higher in a Business or Technical Field, preferred

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Valid Passport

  •   5+ years' experience in B2B selling in the Market Segments

  • Strong technical aptitude with Tank Linings, CUI, and High-Performance Coatings.

  • Proven strategic thinker.
