As the Market Segment Manager, General Aviation Transparencies, you will lead the product management, sales and marketing activities for the PPG Aerospace General Aviation Transparencies business. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Global Platform Director in development of the BSR and prepare annual Market Action Plan (MAP), support the development and implementation of key customer plans (KCP's) with regional ASC Business Managers and OEM Account Managers.
- You will Provide strategic direction and/or input relative to internal activities affecting monthly P&L and working capital across transparencies entities, including sales results, margin and product mix, accounts receivable and inventory, cost of quality (e.g., scrap, rework, warranty), etc.
- Assist in development, support, improvement and marketing of PPG's General Aviation aircraft transparencies.
- Develop market forecasts, competitor assessments, budgets and business plans including contributing to the BSR process, market action plan and long-range budget plan.
- Transparency Marketing: Develop product marketing packages and presentations, sales training/knowledge materials, other marketing materials, as needed; Work with Aerospace marketing organization to develop sales, marketing and promotional materials for General Aviation Transparencies; Support, coordinate PPG activities, and attend relevant tradeshows.
- New Business Development: Lead business development activities for General Aviation aircraft transparencies; OEM: Coordinate and drive actions among PPG's sales, marketing, technical and manufacturing teams to secure new OEM contracts including. Manage customer presentations, cost estimates, commercial and technical proposals and contract negotiations;
- Aftermarket: Assist or manage, as appropriate, development and maintenance of aftermarket operator contracts.
- Current Accounts: Ensure smooth coordination among transparencies OEM account managers, platform team and manufacturing facilities such that PPG delivers superior technical, product and service solutions to our customers; Manage higher-level customer relationships, coordinate and drive executive level customer reviews for key OEM and aftermarket accounts; Ensure robust demand forecasting and planning is in place such that PPG operations can plan and implement successfully.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing/Engineering or related field required. MBA desired
- Seven years of account management experience in the aerospace or manufacturing industry preferred.
- Travel 35% - will include international travel.
- Ability to distill sophisticated technical issues into practical business plans with understandable and compelling narratives.
- Ability to forge meaningful customer relationships at management levels
- Ability to lead meetings, projects and activities; be the go-to person for leadership and action
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Prior Aerospace/General/Business Aviation experience is preferred
- Required to be a US Citizen.
Position will be hybrid, and onsite days will be in Sylmar, CA.
Salary ranges from $130,000 to $150,000 base, plus bonus.
