River Valley Marine- Rochester is looking to hire a Service Writer who is focused on marine. Seeking individual who is energetic, motivated, eager to learn, has an ‘customer first’ (a good customer listener) personality to fit our culture of selling FUN marine products. This Service Writer position has a main focus on creating repair order tickets on jet and prop boat work, with both internal (sales department builds) and external (off the street, returning sales department builds) work.
Hours:
M-F 8:30am-6pm (doors open to the public 9am-6pm) *Saturdays during peak seasons rotating with other service admin
Compensation: Competitive base salary $40,000 - $45,000 DOE + healthy commission structure (anticipated earnings of $60,000 - $80,000/annually).
Main duties, but not limited to:
- Scheduling service work.
- Develop quotes and estimates- clearly communicating such info. Writing repair orders.
- Maintaining records for all service work performed.
- Ensuring timely work completion by service technician.
- Coordinate parts orders as needed for service completion.
- Assist with incoming vehicle check in/deliveries.
- Working with the Warranty administrator on Warranty service work
- Prospecting new work.
- Work with Service management and Parts Management on inventory levels based on repair orders. Handle telephone or email inquiries regarding services needed.

Qualifications:
LightSpeed, LightSpeedEVO experience is a plus. Knowledge of marine equipment. 'A' level organization and customer service skills. Reliable, with a strong work ethic. Self-cultivating. Minimum of 2 years in a service writing role is required. (Those currently in the RV, boat, powersport, automotive industry are highly encouraged to apply)
