APTIM, a leading engineering firm with a global presence and a thriving coastal engineering practice, is pleased to announce an immediate opening in our Boca Raton, FL office for a part-time, entry-level Scientist.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Providing assistance with:

  • Vibracore processing (splitting, photographing, logging, sampling).
  • Sieve and carbonate analysis
  • Carbonate content analysis.
  • GIS analysis and map production.
  • Production of geotechnical deliverables (technical reports and appendices).
  • Formatting of geoscientific datasets in a GIS environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in Geology or related field of study
  • Geology experience (0-5 years) required.
  • Some experience with mechanical sieve analysis
  • Some experience processing sediment cores
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
  • Experience with ArcGIS software preferred.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a diverse team setting.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to complete multiple tasks on an on-going basis by given deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, hard-worker capable of working independently and with our multidisciplinary team of professionals and staff.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must possess a clean driving record
