Geographic locations in which MMSI currently operates include the U.S East, Gulf & West Coasts, and Alaska. The Corporate Office is in Southern California (Ventura) and its Regional Boat Maintenance Center a technically advanced facility in Woodbine Georgia.
How you would make an impact/key responsibilities:
Join the dynamic MMSI team as a Marine Diesel Mechanic responsible for performing maintenance and repairs. This position is located at our Regional Boat Maintenance Center in Woodbine, GA. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Essential Duties Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Tests engine, transmission, rigging, propeller, navigational, and related systems to diagnose malfunctions following installation, using various measuring instruments.
• Mechanic will be removing, machining, repairing, testing, cleaning, hydraulic flushing and reinstalling shafting, propellers, sea chests, foundations, winches, hoists, davits, deck equipment, pumps, valves and bearings.
• Mechanic will be removing and installing the following Marine Diesel Engines, 425HP Cummins QSB 6.7, 370 HP QSB 5.9.
• Installs and tests engines, steering gear, sanitation and refrigeration systems, electrical systems and accessories, electronic components and accessories, hardware, trim, and related components, following manufacturer's instructions and drawings.
• Be able to read, examine and understand, repair or installation work orders, drawings, and specifications, utilizing knowledge based on past experience to determine extent of repairs required or modifications necessary for installation of equipment, accessories, and hardware.
• Positions and secures blocking at bottom and sides of vessels according to size, weight, and weight distribution of vessels, using fasteners, hand tools, and power tools.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
· 18 Years of Age
· US Citizen

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
· The physical demands include ability to concentrate on tasking, hand-eye coordination, and endurance.
Work Environment:
· Outdoor environment including hot, humid working conditions
· Use of Hazardous Materials and Pressurized Systems
Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours worked are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m but can expect extended days or additional days based on current workload. Opportunities for overtime.
