Barton & Gray Mariners Club is dedicated to providing its Members with unmatched experiences on the water, operating over 80+ yachts in 33 harbors, and offering a range of products including Day-boating, Sport-fishing, Overnight Cruising, and more. Our growing service team based in Connecticut is seeking an experienced Marine Detailer to join our Florida team.
The Bottom/Detailing Team Member is responsible for cleaning, restoring, and maintaining the appearance of our Hinckley and custom yachts. The Bottom/Detailing Team Member must possess a keen eye for detail, be skilled in various cleaning and polishing techniques, and have a thorough understanding of the materials and surfaces commonly found in boats.
Responsibilities:
- Washing and cleaning the exterior of Barton & Gray’s yachts
- Use of correct products to for compounding, polishing, and waxing of yachts
- Prepping, sanding and painting boat bottoms and jets
- Inspect boat surfaces for scratches, dents, or damage, and report any findings to the service team
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Maintain a good working relationship with Captains and other support staff
- Additional duties as assigned by manager
Requirements:
- Valid and unencumbered Driver's License
- Knowledge of various boat materials, surfaces, and cleaning products
- Ability to get on and off boats both in the water and on land
- Ability to perform manual labor and work in various weather conditions
- Ability to move into and out of small spaces that may require crouching, kneeling or crawling
- Ability to lift 50 pounds from the ground and be able to carry, push or pull the same load
- Ability to stand intermittently with minimal rest periods for eight hours
