Marina Yard Hand

Do you enjoy the outdoors and being around the water? Pier 7 Marina, located on the Saginaw River in downtown Bay City has an opening for a Marina Yard Hand. Boating knowledge or experience is a plus, but not required.

Job Description: Assists the marina staff with the launch and haul-out of boats, facility maintenance, and boat repairs.

Tasks/Responsibilities:

- Assisting yard manager with hauling and storage of boats

- Operate Marina Yard equipment- forklift, Marine Travelift, Hydraulic Trailers, Forklift.

- Pressure washing boat hulls

- Grounds and facility maintenance

- Lifting and carrying wood blocking and jack stands

- Assist arriving and departing boaters with lines

- Repair and maintenance of storage boats during the winter months

Work Setting:

- Full time, year around position with benefits

- Working outside around the water and on boats

- Assisting with boat maintenance and repairs during the winter

- Primarily weekdays- Some Saturdays in the spring and fall

Job Requirements:

- Previous marina experience preferred

- Marina Equipment experience a plus

- Must be able to take direction and execute tasks

- Comfortable working on and around heavy machinery

- Willingness to learn procedures and take initiative when directed

- Ability to work outdoors in any weather

- Must be able to pass a drug screening

- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

- Must be at least 18 years’ old and have a valid Michigan driver’s license
