Job Description
In accordance with the needs Marcus Crisis Prevention Program (MCPP), the MCPP Training Coordinator will assist in the planning and training for staff, families, schools, outside facilities, and healthcare companies on the use of the MCPP techniques. This individual will also proactively support the efforts that ensure the delivery of safe patient care and services, as well as promote a safe environment when working at the Marcus Autism Center.
Experience
- 1 year teaching experience in staff development, patient/family education, or community education is highly preferred
- Previous training in applied behavior analysis and theoretical understanding and philosophical appreciation for behavioral intervention in a clinical setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of normal/abnormal growth and development throughout the age continuum
- Experience with and knowledge of the management and treatment of severe problem behavior is highly preferred
Education
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or allied discipline
- Postgraduate degree ideal
Certification Summary
- Certification in MCPP as a user and trainer is required within 30 days of hire
- BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire

Job Responsibilities
- Assists the MCPP Trainer in the delivery of individual and group trainings on the use of the MCPP for both User and Trainer courses. Includes training for Marcus staff, Children's staff, families of clients currently being served or previously served by the Marcus Autism Center, school systems, outside facilities, individual providers (e.g., BCBA/BCABA), and healthcare companies. Also, includes quality assurance of procedures and recertification training.
- Training can be conducted at the Marcus Autism Center, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta facilities, schools, or other locations. Travel (both nationally and internationally) may be required for companies who request services at their facility.
- Maintains documentation of training to include records and reports for active and past training cases, including timely and thorough completion of evaluation reports, progress notes, and any correspondence.
- Assists MCPP Trainer in the delivery of training sessions for caretakers for implementation Crisis Prevention and management techniques, as well as the use of treatment procedures.
- Assists with coordination of orientation of new staff to department procedures and data collection procedures. Assists with coordination of the development of staff/student training programs.
- May directly or indirectly assist with operational activities of assigned office, department or business project including supply maintenance (includes food if applicable), facility management requests, and the other office needs as they arise.
- Participate and support education initiatives at the system level to ultimately result in improved quality of care to patients and families.
- Perform other responsibilities as required.
